We have listed some pointers below about securing contracts in the same regions and facilities.
In a group of travelers, it is likely that one of you has the most difficult time securing contracts. It may be that you are more particular with pay, setting, location, etc. It may simply be that you are a PTA, COTA, or SLPA where there are less jobs overall. Between PT, OT, and SLP, PT's tend to have the most job availability in the travel world. They are followed by SLPs and OT's.
Be sure to find a job for the least flexible team member first, and don't sign until each member has an offer.
We have had success with getting hired by the same facility before. However, more often, we all find jobs in the same region. Once we all have offers in the same region, we check the housing market to find something central to all of our locations before signing a contract.
You may find that your recruiter isn't able to find a contract for everyone on your team. We work through 3+ companies and recruiters in order to increase the chances of us finding jobs in the same region.
Knowing the supply and demand of your team's roles can help leverage one position in order to help sign another. For example, if a school district needs an OT and SLP, they may be willing to sign a trio of PT, OT, SLP to fill the needs. Similarly, a company would be ecstatic to hire more than one traveler at once to increase their revenue.
